About us
Of the cameroonian Youth for climate action (JCAC)
JCAC is an initiative bringing together the cameroonian youth to reflect on ways to be decisive and innovative for our generation to provide concrete responses to climate issues affecting the soil, hydrography, terrain, flora, and fauna of our country. To this effect, JCAC intends to mobilize the energy and creativity of youth, social engineering, and the local traditions handed down by our ancestors, as well as the dynamism of the popular masses to stop the ravages of climate change, as well as their socio-economic and ecological. To achieve this, we intend to build on the legal and regulatory framework of the Republic of Cameroon concerning the protection of the environment as well as the international instruments relating thereto, ratified by our State. The chart below summarizes the general context of environmental stress observed in Cameroon.
OUR VISION:
A Cameroon resilient to the effects of climate change, living in harmony in a shared prosperity
The pillars of JCAC
Environment
Also we promote concrete actions for adaptation and mitigation of climate change, such as the extension of renewable energy, the circular economy and the promotion of local knowledge.
The objective here is to strengthen environmental education in vulnerable populations, including youth, women and the elderly, but also with the local authorities, administrative, religious and traditional, through awareness-raising initiatives.
Conflict & intergenerational Dialogue
The pressure on land due to land degradation and population growth led to conflicts in virtually all families. One of the solutions to this multifaceted crisis is to invest in the prevention and management of conflicts through initiatives and innovative mechanisms and multi-stakeholder.
Land
The climate crisis affects the land in a particular way, especially as the planning of land use is still not widespread throughout the national territory.
Our approach is to advocate for a land reform that would clarify in a participatory manner, the possible uses of our land and the instruments for their sustainable management.
Agroecology
The population of cameroon, 41% of whom live in rural areas and where more than half is active in agriculture, is facing a decrease in crop yields. This is due to unsustainable practices, land pressure and the effects of climate change.
Faced with this situation, it is urgent to promote agroecology and the introduction of alternative sources of income based on non-timber forest products in order to restore the land, to increase the production and improve the livelihoods of rural populations, even when the area would be in a constant reduction
This initiative aims at strengthening social cohesion and promoting the sustainable development and resilience to climate change.
We believe in Cameroon, where communities live in harmony with their environment, using sustainable practices and sharing resources in a fair manner. We are committed to raise awareness, educate, and mobilize youth to become agents of change, able to provide innovative and sustainable solutions. Together, we can build a future that is resilient to our country.

Testimonials
I would like to thank JCAC, which has agreed to participate in this workshop. This is an opportunity for me to encourage this kind of initiative to the place of young people to promote reflections and actions also relevant that contribute effectively to the development of our community. There is one aspect that is income, the import-substitution, which is very important. I would like to encourage the association to move forward. For citizenship and community engagement, it is an element to be taken into account in the framework of the better live together in Yaoundé 5 and the development of our dear and beautiful country Cameroon
Ms Colette YANGWO, Delegate MINJEC Yaoundé 5
Each area is characterized by certain species stable. We need to plant trees that are adapted to the locality and the microclimate, and make the wealth of the area. These are the various species of trees that should be planted and maintained. Thus, we invite people and associations to join us to plant trees. Because it contributes to food security
Mr. Xavier FOUDA MBALA, Delegation of the département of the MINFOF / LEKIE
